PAP faces 3-corner fights in Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC and Pioneer SMC

SINGAPORE — The ruling People’s Action Party (PAP) will be facing three-corner fights in Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC and Pioneer SMC at the General Election on 10 July, following the end of Nomination Day on Tuesday (30 June).

In the five-member Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, the PAP will be battling Peoples Voice (PV) and the Singapore Democratic Alliance (SDA). Its team is anchored by Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean, who will lead Dr Janil Puthucheary, Mohamed Sharael Taha, Yeo Wan Ling, and Desmond Tan.

PV is fielding Jireh Lim, Prabu Ramachandran, Mohamed Nassir Ismail, Goh Keow Wah, and Vigneswari Ramachandran while the SDA team comprises Desmond Lim, Abu Mohamed, Harminder Pal Singh, Kuswadi Atnawi, and Kelvin Ong.

PAP’s Patrick Tay will be contesting in Pioneer SMC after serving a term as MP for West Coast GRC. His rivals will be Lim Cher Hong of Progress Singapore Party and independent candidate Cheang Peng Wah.

A total of 192 candidates will contesting 93 parliamentary seats across six four-member GRCs, 11 five-member GRCs and 14 SMCs.
