Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag play has been made available to stream online to raise money for coronavirus relief charities.

Following the success of her BBC3 sitcom of the same name, actor-writer Waller-Bridge reprised her role in the original stage production for one last run in London’s West End in August 2019.

Now, in a bid to benefit communities affected by coronavirus, fans will be available to stream the stage show on Soho Theatre on Demand and Amazon Prime Video during the month of April.

From today, UK viewers can purchase a 48-hour download of the Fleabag’s National Theatre Live stage recording for £4, with all proceeds being split between The National Emergencies Trust, NHS Charities Together, NHS Charities Together and the Fleabag Support Fund.

Waller-Bridge has also made a personal donation of £356,000 to the cause.

It is the latest effort to bring theatre to the home during coronavirus lockdown, with the National Theatre streaming live performances of productions shows including James Corden’s One Man, Two Guvnors and Tamsin’s Grieg’s Twelfth Night for free on YouTube every Thursday.
