Miriam the love guru?
Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago is known for being confrontational on the Senate floor but her encounters with the press show her soft side.
The solon, who recently admitted in an interview that she played matchmaker to fellow senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero and actress Heart Evangelista, also frequently shares comic advice on how to break the ice.
In a speech before University of the Philippines Diliman students last year, Santiago said she told Evangelista, a close family friend, that if the actress stay close, she will "get educated" on dealing with romantic advances.
