Singapore paddlers win first gold medals of SEA Games

Singapore swept the first two gold medals at the SEA Games on Tuesday, winning the men's and women's table tennis doubles titles.

Zhou Yihan and Lin Ye shared the honour of delivering the first gold medal to the host-nation when they upset their compatriots Feng Tianwei and Yu Mengyu in a thrilling final of the women's competition.

Then Gao Ning and Li Hu made it a double celebration for the home team when they won the men's final, beating Thailand's Padasak Tanviriyavechakul and Chanakarn Udomsilp, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
