Police find more skeletal remains by river, suspected to be missing Orang Asli child

Police said this evening that the scattered bones and skull of a child, suspected to be of one of the missing seven Orang Asli children, were found by a river 1.3km from Post Tohoi, near Gua Musang in Kelantan. State police chief Datuk Mazlan Lazim told The Malaysian Insider that search and rescue personnel found the skeletal remains at 5.30pm after hours of searching along the Sungai Perias river. “The General Operation Force found the skull of a child and skeletal remains. It belonged to a child as the remains and the skull all fit together. "We sent the remains to Gua Musang Hospital for post mortem,” Mazlan said in a text message. This is the second remains found suspected to be of one the seven Orang Asli children who went missing six weeks ago. The decomposed body of the first victim, 8-year-old Sasa Sobrie, was found some 24 hours ago in the same river. Sasa’s decomposed body was found at 7pm yesterday. The girl's foot was trapped in a tree branch in the river. Her body was identified by her uncle at a hospital in Gua Musang through the marks found on it, The Star reported, Meanwhile, Gua Musang hospital director Dr Nik Mohd Faizal Zainal told Bernama that the post mortem report revealed that Sasa has been dead between one and two weeks. The seven children, comprising six girls and a boy aged between seven and 11, were believed to have run away from the SK Pos Tohoi hostel for fear of disciplinary action by their teacher for bathing in a river on August 23. – October 8, 2015.
