Policeman dies after being found with gunshot wound to the head at Yishun North NPC

SINGAPORE — A 28-year-old policeman died on Sunday (16 June) after he was found with a gunshot wound to his head.

According to media reports, the police sergeant had reported for duty at the Yishun North Neighbourhood Police Centre at 7.30pm and had drawn his service revolver from the armoury.

At around 9.30pm, he was found with a gunshot wound to the head at the NPC’s rest area. The officer was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he died at 10.26pm.

The case has been classified as an unnatural death and no foul play is suspected. Investigations into the matter by the Criminal Investigation Department are ongoing and the police are assisting the deceased officer’s family in their time of grief.
