Porn Accounts of 380,000 People Exposed by Hackers

Users of porn site xHamster may have had their personal information leaked by hackers, according to media reports.

Motherboard reported a database of usernames, e-mail addresses and passwords of around 380,000 users were obtained by hackers and are being passed around on the “digital underground.”

According to Motherboard, who obtained the information from for-profit breach notification site LeakBase, it includes around 40 email addresses belonging to the US Army and 30 related to various US, UK, and other countries’ government agencies.

xHamster denied the hack to Motherboard. “We cannot validate that the emails are real and we don’t believe that this is a genuine database,” the porn site said in a statement.

However, the Vice-hosted site also said they attempted to individually confirm the information in the database belonged to real users of xHamster by attempting to create new accounts using a random sampling of 50 e-mail accounts; all 50 returned the message, “This email already exists!”

Representatives for xHamster did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
