Prince Harry has made a surprise appearance in the trailer for the upcoming Netflix documentary Rising Phoenix.

The new documentary tells the history of the Paralympic Games, and will drop on the streaming service on 26 August.

In the trailer, which was released on Thursday (13 August), Prince Harry is seated on a green leather sofa in a studio as he discusses the power of sport.

"There isn't anything else in the world that can bring you back from the darkest places than sport," he says.

Later on, he discusses the incredible impact of the Paralympic Games, both on the athletes themselves and the spectators.

"Yes, lives are being changed on the track," he says, as footage plays. "But lives are also being changed in the stands."

Prince Harry has, of course, long been known for his love of sport, and he attended the London Paralympic and Olympic Games in 2012. He also founded the Invictus Games in 2014 in order to help use the power of sport to inspire recovery and support rehabilitation for wounded, injured or sick servicemen and women.

In the description of Rising Phoenix on its official YouTube, Netflix says: "From the rubble of World War II to the third biggest sporting event on the planet, the Paralympics sparked a global movement which continues to change the way the world thinks about disability, diversity and human potential."

Rising Phoenix will be released on Netflix on 26 August.
