Priyanka Chopra in final talks to join The Matrix 4

Reality check: Another star is about to enter The Matrix 4.

Plugging into this sci-fi saga with veterans Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss is Priyanka Chopra Jonas, whom EW has learned is in final negotiations to join the cast of the fourth film.

Details on her character are, per usual, being kept under wraps for the highly secretive project. The Baywatch and Quantico actress joins the previously revealed Neil Patrick Harris (A Series of Unfortunate Events), Jonathan Groff (Frozen 2, Mindhunter), and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, Watchmen).

The Matrix premiered in 1999 from directing siblings Lana and Lilly Wachowski, though only Lana will direct The Matrix 4, which is set to hit theaters on May 21, 2021, nearly 18 years after The Matrix Revolutions.

A few of the Wachowskis’ actors from their Netflix series Sense8 will also be featured in the cast, including Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, and Eréndira Ibarra.

Reeves and Moss will reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity in the film, though their former costar Hugo Weaving will not be reprising his role of Agent Smith. He told Time OUT London in a recent interview that scheduling was to blame.

Chopra Jonas recently starred in and produced the film The Sky Is Pink. She also appeared in music videos for “Sucker” and “What a Man Gotta Do” from Jonas Brothers — her husband being Nick Jonas.

Variety was the first to report the news.
