With a total of 8 stations; Singapore, Iskandar Puteri, Batu Pahat, Muar, Ayer Keroh, Seremban, Putrajaya and KL, the HSR service will cut travel time between Singapore and KL to 90 minutes, and Singapore to Iskandar Puteri to be within 15 minutes. The terminal stations for the HSR will be in Singapore’s second CBD – Jurong East and the upcoming Bandar in Malaysia.

In addition to the non-stop HSR service, a cross-border shuttle service will also be made available between Singapore and Iskandar Puteri.

Iskandar Puteri is an important pit stop in this HSR project – as the 2nd station connecting both countries along the international HSR service from Singapore. It is also the station for the 2-way direct cross-border shuttle service between Singapore and Iskandar Puteri, and terminal station for Malaysia’s domestic train service in Johor and a CIQ facility location.

Besides Singapore and KL, Iskandar Puteri is also one of locations where the customs, immigration andquarantine (CIQ) facilities of both countries will be located. Travelers will only need to clear immigration once when departing from the respective countries for a seamless travel.

In addition, passengers will be able to hop on an MRT train in Woodlands to cross the border to Johor Baru by Dec 31, 2024 via the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, which is scheduled for every four to eight minutes between Johor’s Bukit Chagar terminus station and the Singapore terminus in Woodlands North. This translates to approximately 10,000 passengers an hour in each direction on a train. The Woodlands North terminus will in turn join the upcoming Thomson- East Coast Line (TEL). Construction is expected to begin next year.

Given the seamless multimodal transportation options centering on Iskandar Puteri, a spike in international tourists and domestic visitation is expected. Iskandar Puteri is set to be a flourishing zone in Iskandar Malaysia as the HSR project opens up many new opportunities for business, developments, offices and people within Iskandar Puteri and beyond.
