When is the Red Arrows flypast today and where can I see it?
Plane-spotters in parts of England are in for a treat today as the Red Arrows take to the skies for a dazzling display.
The RAF had said last week the planes were to be grounded due to a technical issue but they have now confirmed that the flypasts will take place.
The aerobatics display team has released exact timings and where they will be flying to make it easier for people to catch a glimpse.
Why are the Red Arrows doing two flypasts today?
The event is taking place to celebrate the opening of the 2022 Commonwealth Games that are being held in Birmingham.
The flypasts will coincide with the opening ceremony, which begins at 7pm tonight.
How often do Red Arrows flypasts take place?
While there is no specific number of Red Arrows flypasts, they do make regular appearances every year throughout the summer months.
By the start of 2022 – the team's 58th season – they had flown in nearly 5,000 displays across 57 countries.
Their schedule begins in March every year and usually runs every month until October.
The greatest number of displays flown in any year was in 1995, when the Red Arrows performed 136 times.
When was the last Red Arrows display?
The Red Arrows have already made several appearances this month, the most recent being at the Making Waves festival in Irvine, Scotland on 24 July.
They have also been seen in Wales, Southport and at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone on 3 July.

How many aircraft are in the Red Arrows?
The Red Arrows were formed in the late 1964 as the public face of the RAF.
A minimum of nine Red Arrows will be in the sky during any given display, with 11 pilots in total making up the entire team.
Another team of 11 people – known as ‘The Circus’ and consisting of 10 technicians and one photographer – each sit behind the pilot in the plane throughout the duration of the summer display.
Formations reflect various historical anniversaries or topical events that year, while the Diamond formation is the team’s signature.
