Refurbished Eunos food centre to reopen on Sunday

The newly refurbished Eunos Crescent Market & Food Centre (pictured) is set to reopen on Sunday, 1 April 2012, with residents and customers expecting a more pleasant experience after it closed for upgrade works nine months ago.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) said improvement works at the food centre include extension canopies that will provide customers with more shelter. It will also feature a handicapped-friendly toilet and a diaper-changing counter, as well as 612 seats and 144 tables, an increase from the previous 522 seats and 88 tables.

Located in Block 4A, the newly refurbished centre will also feature wider passageways for ease of movement. NEA said business will resume progressively as more stalls complete their renovation works.

It added that all cooked food stalls are now equipped with new mechanical exhaust systems to improve ventilation, and skylights have also been installed in the restrooms to enhance the existing artificial lightning with natural light during the day.
