“RHODubai”’s Caroline Stanbury Used Ozempic to Lose 18 Lbs. She Gained During IVF

“Why do you need to be miserable if you can get yourself back to where you were?” the reality star said

Caroline Stanbury revealed that she used Ozempic to lose the 18 lbs. she gained while undergoing in vitro fertilization.

On June 17, ​The Real Housewives of Dubai star spoke to Us Weekly about her decision to take Ozempic, an FDA-approved prescription medication for people with type 2 diabetes.

It's one of the brand names for semaglutide — also known as Wegovy — which works in the brain to impact satiety. Over the past year it has become very popular for weight loss in and out of Hollywood.

“After 45, it becomes very, very hard to lose weight — and I’m not lazy,” the 48-year-old told the outlet. “I’m not lying at home doing nothing. I go to the gym, I have a trainer, I walk all the time [and] I’m busy.”

But despite her efforts, Stanbury said her weight “wasn’t shifting” and she realized her struggle was due to her completing two rounds of IVF. Weight gain is a common side effect of IVF treatments.

“I did get really fat. I put on 18 lbs. on my body and that’s no joke,” she said. “I looked like I ate [my husband Sergio Carrallo] by the end of last summer. I was reading a magazine [that had] a picture of my bottom on the back of a boat with him last summer. I was like, ‘That’s it. I’ve got to do something. I can’t get it off.’”

“Ozempic, I have to say … is an incredible tool,” she continued. “Why do you need to be miserable if you can get yourself back to where you were? I didn’t want to be different. I didn’t do my face to look like a supermodel. I wanted to be me, but younger.”

Stanbury boasted that with the help of Ozempic, she “got back to exactly where I’ve always been” and she’s even able to fit into her old jeans. However, the reality star said she no longer takes the weekly injections.

“But… if I put [the weight] back on, I would absolutely take [more injections],” she said. “Why not maintain it? But right now, I’ve been really lucky [and] I don’t need it right now.”

She told the outlet that Carrallo “wants to do another round of IVF [and] a hundred percent Ozempic will be my next stop.”

Stanbury first revealed she used the medication for weight loss during the May 29 episode of her podcast Uncut & Uncensored.

“What did Kate Moss say? ‘Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.’ There’s something to be said for that,” she said at the time, noting that she turned to Ozempic during a “midlife crisis.”

During the show, Stanbury’s husband shared how the couple is balancing their nutrition outside of the weight loss aids.

“We try to maintain the balance … if we have a big dinner we try to just fast a little bit until breakfast,” Carrallo explained before telling his wife, “From a professional background in sports, I think you’ve found your balance now.”
