Rica Peralejo suffers miscarriage
4 Mar - The happiness of announcing her pregnancy was cut short when actress-TV presenter Rica Peralejo found out several days later that she had lost her baby.
As reported on PEP News, the actress, who announced her own and sister Paula's pregnancies back on 28 February via Instagram, used the same social account to inform that she has lost her six week-old unborn child.
The 34-year-old posted, "It was good while it lasted, it was good even when it ended. God is good all the time."
"On the blog is an announcement about my pregnancy, for those who care to know, we lost the baby. It isn't a very happy one so prayers and sensitivity are appreciated."
In her blog post, Peralejo stated that she found out that she was pregnant sometime in January, announced it only last weekend, and found that the baby no longer has a heartbeat a few days later.
"The long explanation for the cause is that it is most probably a developmental problem. An abnormality with the baby that is not compatible with life, so it didn't allow my baby to progress any further. My doctor said that nothing could have altered this, even if I rested, stayed home, etc," she said.
Peralejo said that although she is in great emotional pain over the loss, she believes that God knows what's best for her and the child.
"Believe it or not, what I truly feel right now is that despite of everything that happened, this is still God's mercy upon our family. I don't know how I am able to say this, but I really truly believe this is still His mercy in action and I can't help but be grateful for so much."
At the same time, the actress relayed that sister Paula is in great shape and that her baby is doing fine.
