Second place on the most-viewed list went to a Sussex manor home. However, those wanting to buy that home will need to stump up the £19m asking price.

How to sell your home – top tips to attract offers

Selling your home can be a daunting task, and it may be that the property goes unsold for weeks or months. However, property experts say there are things you can do to give your home a boost, upping your chance of an offer coming sooner rather than later.

It may sound obvious but your home should be as mess-free as possible. You can use it as an excuse to get rid of things that are taking up space, maybe even making some money for your next move.

If you can, replace bulky furniture with smaller replacements to give a better vision of space. Giving your walls a refresh with a coat of light, neutral paint can also make your home appear lighter and even bigger.

Repair anything that is broken – such as holes in walls or broken door knobs and give the property a good clean and think about some diffusers to give the place a pleasant smell. If you have a garden, cut the grass and clean patio furniture.

The first thing prospective buyers will see is the front of the property so to make a good first impression, think about cleaning the windows, fixing up the front garden and painting any fencing or wooden panels that have maybe not been given much attention of late.

Simple additions to the interior of your home can make all the difference. Mirrors will make things appear lighter and bigger, while lighting in darker areas will also do the same. Plants, flowers and fruit add colour, while clean bedding and curtains stop things becoming a turn-off for buyers. Baking a cake or brewing fresh coffee could also give your property a homely lift.
