RM20 sex, all because 14-year-olds want a fix

Six child prostitutes were detained after they were caught during an anti-narcotics operation in Malacca selling themselves at RM20 per session and psychotropic pills.

The six, all under 14, admitted to several enforcement agencies who conducted the raid that they were willing to sell their bodies just to feed their drug habit.

According to The Star, authorities found it difficult to prosecute those who had sex with these underaged girls as the identities of the clients were not known.

The state welfare, woman and family development committee chairman Datuk Latipah Omar said she believed that there were many more girls who were willing to be sexually exploited as they were hooked on drugs.

“We are concerned. Teenage prostitutes are extremely vulnerable to HIV due to their lack of knowledge or access to preventive methods,” she said.

She said recently, the police arrested a 26-year-old man who had forced his 13-year-old girlfriend from Merlimau in Malacca into the flesh trade.

The father of the runaway girl had stormed into the house at Peringgit Pantai on July 26 after receiving a tip-off that his daughter was forced to entertain men by her drug addict boyfriend.

“The girl said she too was into drugs and received RM20 per sex session from her boyfriend,” said Latipah, adding that according to police investigations, the girl was told to entertain clients at hotels and at homes since June.

Latipah said these girls were now undergoing rehabilitation.

It was also reported that sources had said some of these child prostitutes even went on to launch their own business, cutting away the need to share their income with their pimps.

The source said the girls offered their services via social media, while most of them rented houses in a group to entertain their clients. – August 4, 2013.
