His latest drama series involves the supernatural, but local actor Romeo Tan said he has yet to see anything from the other side despite attempts to.

In an interview with Yahoo Southeast Asia on 27 October for "Till The End", in which he plays a handsome doctor who is a clean freak, Tan admitted that he’s always believed in the supernatural since young.

“I’m actually quite weird. Since I was young, I’ve been to Old Changi Hospital. I’ve also been to the cemetery for ‘hiking’ – with friends, not alone. It was all at night. When I was young, I was curious about whether such things exist, but the more I tried to find it, the more I couldn’t see it,” the 38-year-old shared.

Despite that, Tan still believes in the supernatural because “there are many things science cannot explain” and these things usually make individuals question the existence of the supernatural.

Tan's chilling encounter at Old Changi Hospital

Tan did share that there he had a “near encounter” during a trip to the infamous Old Changi Hospital, though.

The defunct and abandoned building was an iconic site and said to be one of the most haunted locations in Singapore.

It has a chilling history as a holding facility for military prisoners of war during World War 2, and rumour has it that a small room in the hospital once served as a torture chamber for the Kempeitai (Japanese Secret Police).

Tan recounted that he was part of a group of either eight or 10 people who entered the hospital grounds, but “we all remember there’s odd number [of people] coming out”.

He said, “I’m not sure if whether is it our friends who pulled a trick on us, but there was an extra number of people coming out and we all freaked out. Then suddenly we all just run out of the OCH.

“Apparently, the last person [of the group], she got a fever after that for a few days. That’s all. Lucky I’m not the last one.”

Till The End airs weekdays 9pm on Channel 8 and is available on meWATCH.
