Sangweni recovery ongoing

Bucs' Sangweni set for MRI

Orlando Pirates defender Siyabonga Sangweni is set to remain on the sidelines for up to two months as he continues to recover from a knee injury. The Bafana Bafana international missed almost the entire second-half of the 2012/13 PSL season due to the knock, and remains on the treatment table undergoing physiotherapy. Buccaneers assistant coach Tebogo Moloi has now confirmed the centre-back is only expected to return to training in August, ruling him out of the Carling Black Label Cup and the CAF Champions League group stage clash against AC Leopards. "We want to give him enough chance to recover; he is undergoing rehabilitation under the watchful eye of our biokineticist, Mandy Solomons," Moloi told The Sowetan. "The medical team will also make arrangements for him to see a physiotherapist. "He is not going to be part of the team that will go to Lesotho for the King's Cup in Maseru on July 14, the African Champions League group stages game against AC Leopards from Congo Brazzaville at Orlando Stadium on July 21 and Carling Black Label Cup against Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on July 27." Sanweni revealed his frustration at having had to miss out on so much football, saying: "It was frustrating for me to watch my team from the stands. "The medical team has been working on my injury and I hope to start playing competitive soccer the latest by October."
