Greetings again, esports folks and fans! Today’s recap is centred on Mobile Legends, League of Legends, and a fighting game combo.
Geek Fam (Mobile Legends)
Malaysian team GeekFam won the recent MPL Playoffs tournament last weekend at Sunway Pyramid, Selangor. The team won themselves US$25,000 as well as bragging rights for being the best Mobile Legends esports team in the region.
GeekFam defeated EVOS Esports SG in a gruelling Best of 5 match filled with lane-domination and teammates like Dominus dominating the field with 14 kills in a match. The crowd went wild when Xorn clutched a 1v4 team fight, with him emerging as the sole living victor in that teamfight.

MEGA Esports (League of Legends)
Thailand’s premiere League of Legends team MEGA Esports/MEGA Bangkok Titans recently won US$30,000 and placed first in the LST Spring 2019 tournament.
The Thai team defeated Capital Esports and Team Empire in the semifinals and finals of the tournament thanks to their persistent play and team fight wins.
MG’s Rockky is clearly the MVP of the group that initiated the first kills and subsequent team fights to victory.
They will be heading to this year’s League of Legends Mid Season Invitationals which runs from 1 May to 19 May.

Xian (Street Fighter V), Shen Chan (SoulCalibur 6)
The Singapore veterans of fighting games made their mark in Llyon, France, during the Mixup 2019 fighting game tournament.
Both Xian and Shen Chan (now representing Panda Gaming) are placed in the top 20 in their respective fighting games & their main characters: Street Fighter V’s Ibuki and SoulCalibur 6’s Cervantes.
Despite being in the top 20, no high-level player should ever count them out, especially if it’s national pride on the line in a foreign land.
