Singapore's dragon boat women clinched a landmark bronze in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games five-crew, 500m event Friday morning at Ngalike Dam in Naypyidaw, Myanmar.

This is the nation's first medal in the sport since the men won gold at the 1993 SEA Games held in Singapore.

The Singapore girls crossed the line in a time of 2.27.139s, behind champions Myanmar (2.15.713s) and runners-up Indonesia (2.24.516). They were three seconds clear of last-placed Thailand who clocked 2.30.635s.
