SEA Games: Singapore's ice hockey team falls to Malaysia in bronze playoff

Singapore’s hopes of winning the Republic’s first ever medal in ice hockey at the SEA Games were dashed by host Malaysia on Thursday night (25 Aug).

In the match for the bronze medal at Empire City, Kuala Lumpur, a dominant Malaysia trounced Singapore 8-2 to win bronze in front of a packed crowd. Singapore had been aiming for at least a silver in the event. Singapore finished fourth out of five teams in the group.

Thailand took the silver, and the Philippines’ Mighty Ducks won gold.
