SIHH 2018: Hublot's Big Bang watch gets a sapphire glass case

Watchmaker Hublot is showcasing its new "Big Bang One Click Sapphire" -- a watch cut straight from sapphire -- at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), which opened Monday, January 15 in Geneva. With its transparent design, this ladies' watch -- also available in pink and sky blue -- is a limited edition with 200 pieces of each version.

As a major arena for showing off expertise and innovation in the watch world, while also shaping the trends of tomorrow, SIHH is a showcase for exceptional technical creations. At this year's edition, Hublot revealed one of its new ladies' watches, the "Big Bang One Click Sapphire."

After being dressed in denim, linen and embroideries, the iconic Big Bang now comes finished in polished transparent sapphire glass, pink sapphire glass or sky blue sapphire glass, depending on the versions. This prestigious material also offers high resistance. Cut straight from sapphire, the watch is turned pink thanks to the fusion of aluminum oxide and titanium oxide or iron for the sky blue color.

Elegant, feminine and sporty

The 39mm sapphire glass case has a stainless steel bezel set with 42 diamonds, ensuring a feminine and highly chic look. Also in sapphire glass, the dial has polished appliques and hands with a white, blue or pink luminescent coating. Sportier, but no less elegant, the strap is made from transparent structured rubber, with a blue, pink or clear finish. Plus, the "One Click" system means the strap can be changed to suit individual tastes, outfits or moods.

With the automatic HUB1710 movement, the "Big Bang One Click Sapphire" has hours, minutes, seconds functions and a date window at six o'clock. It has a power reserve of around 50 hours and is water-resistant to approximately 100 meters.
