Singapore Biennale Is Back For 2016

The Singapore Arts Museum (SAM) announced on Wednesday (29th July) that its biggest contemporary arts event, Singapore Biennale, will return for its run from 28 October 2016 to 26 February 2017.

Established in 2006, this will be the fifth edition of the event, which presents and reflects the dynamics of artistic practices, not only of Singapore but of the region and the world. This is an event that is not just anticipated by artists, art businesses or organisations, but also by Singaporeans and visitors as a highlight in Singapore’s cultural calendar.

2013’s edition of the Biennale, titled If the World Changed, attracted a record number visitors and showcased more than 80 artists from 13 countries.

Singapore Biennale 2016 will be organised by the Singapore Art Museum and commissioned by the National Arts Council.
