Are you a business traveller who makes frequent trips to the Philippines on the country's national carrier? If your answer is yes, you would be happy to know that Philippine Airlines has begun reconfiguring its Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a new 3-class cabin layout that includes Premium Economy and Business Class. Previously, travellers only had the option of flying in Economy on Philippine Airlines' A330s.

With the new cabin classes on board the carrier's A330 aircraft, travellers in Singapore who are always looking to fly more comfortably will have their wishes granted when September rolls around. In particular, there will be 24 Premium Economy seats that offer 38 inches of legroom and 18 Business Class seats that you can recline fully. The remaining 267 seats in the Economy cabin offer around 32 inches of legroom.

If you aren't sure about shelling out more money to fly in Premium Economy, definitely check out our post here that will come in handy in helping you decide if Premium Economy tickets are worth it. After all, some airlines do offer more leg space in Premium Economy than other airlines.

By the way, all seats on Philippine Airlines' revamped A330s are equipped with USB ports, power sockets, inflight entertainment as well as access to inflight Wi-Fi, although charges may apply if you want to stay connected via Philippine Airlines' inflight Wi-Fi. Previously, the carrier offered travellers 30 minutes of free inflight Wi-Fi.

At the moment, Philippine Airlines has 15 A330s amongst its fleet of aircraft. The airline has plans to revamp all 15 planes to include the new 3-class cabin configuration. For now, the only reconfigured A330s that are in service operate on the Manila-Honolulu and Manila-Melbourne routes. The revamped planes will be introduced progressively on the Manila-Sydney route in August; Manila-Singapore route in September; Manila-Tokyo Haneda route in October; Manila-Tokyo Narita in November; and Manila-Osaka in December.

Some Nuggets Of Information About Philippine Airlines

While you may already know that Singapore Airlines is the world's second best airline this year and that Singapore's Changi Airport is once again the world's best airport, you may not know how Philippine Airlines fares in the industry.

According to Skytrax's World Airline Awards 2017, Philippine Airlines is among the top 100 airlines in the world. In fact, the Philippines' national carrier is #67 on the list, trailing behind both Scoot at #60 and Jetstar Asia at #61. Last year, Philippine Airlines came in at #83 on the list, so it's great news that the carrier has moved up the ranks.
