Stamford Tyres Broadens Its Reach!
Enlarging its already-established footprint here in Singapore, Stamford Tyres, Singapore’s largest independent wheel and tyre distributor, announced the opening of its new premise; a staggering 22,591 square metre, $25 million dollar commercial centre. Built for the purpose as a tyre warehouse, a truck tyre centre and a retreading plant, its presence will add essential support required for its tyre management expansion in the South East Asian region.
“The opening of this commercial centre will provide Stamford Tyres with the support it needs for the Group’s international export of proprietary wheels and tyres overseas, to countries such as Russia, the United Kingdom, Canada, etc.” said Mr Wee Kok Wah, President of Stamford Tyres Corporation Limited. “The new warehouse premises will combine operations for tyre and wheel distribution, a truck centre and retread plant operations along with the mixing centre to support the international wheel and tyre distribution operations of the Group.”
Consisting of six service bays for trucks and eight loading and unloading bays that incorporate the Jurong Truck Centre as well, operations are bound to be smooth and efficient. Able to store over a million tyres, its space allows it to hold a total of 45,000 pallets with 600,000 tyres, alongside 400,000 tyres at its existing space.
Its truck service bays and alignment bay allows Stamford Tyre to provide comprehensive tyre services that include tyre change and repair, wheel balancing, alignment and retread services. Its 10 units of Mobile Tyre Recovery service, its range of premium truck tyre brands provide tyre choices to its customers, such as Singapore Port of Authority (PSA), SMRT, Colex and SBS Transit.
The retreading program, a collaboration with Continental, gives new life to tyres. Recycling worn tyres by extending their lifespan, Stamford Tyres provides treading capabilities of up to 1,700 tyres per month.
