Stephen Chow on acting comeback: Forget it!

30 Jan – With a new movie to be released soon, Stephen Chow was recently asked the same question again - will he finally make his acting comeback?

And to that question, the filmmaker sighed and responded, "Forget about it".

As reported on SETN, Stephen, whose last acting project was 2008's "CJ7", stated that he is no longer interested to be an actor, and instead would prefer to cultivate new talents.

"I want more people to join the film industry and finally get their opportunity to shine. It makes more sense than to pay myself to act," he said.

True to his words, Stephen has introduced a lot of new talents, mostly actresses, which went on to become big stars themselves.

These actresses, known to fans as "Sing Girls", include Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung (who made her debut through "King of Comedy"), and Jelly Lin Yun (who was cast to play the lead in "The Mermaid").
