Steven Seagal Under Siege for Morning Show Interview: ‘Poor Man’s Bond Villain’
Steven Seagal made an appearance on the U.K.’s “Good Morning Britain” Wednesday, and the Twitterverse was quick to ridicule the aging action star for his goateed appearance standing in front of the Kremlin
Commenters described the former “Under Siege” star as “a Lego character,” a “poor man’s Bond villain” or a “character on the board game ‘Guess Who.'”
Others took the actor to task for praising Russian President Vladimir Putin and criticizing the “disgusting” protests by NFL players during the national anthem in his wide-ranging interview with “Good Morning Britain” host and CNN alum Piers Morgan.

“I think it’s outrageous, I think it’s a joke, it’s disgusting. I respect the American flag,” the actor said of the take-a-knee protests. “I myself have risked my life countless times for the American flag and I don’t understand or agree with this kind of behavior. I think it’s an outrage.”
Twitter went into a frenzy after Seagal’s appearance on the morning show, collectively marveling at his newfound villainous sense of style and noting that he became a Russian citizen last year.
“Steven Seagal now looks like the villain in a Steven Seagal film,” one Twitter user said. “In today’s news: Steven Seagal moved to Russia to complete his transition into a Bond villain,” another quipped.
“‘Batman has until midnight to reveal himself or I will bring Gotham to its knees’ — Steven Seagal,” another user said.
