Stolen Car Rams Into Shoe Store on Los Angeles’s Melrose Avenue

A car that police said had been stolen in a carjacking was recorded smashing through a glass storefront on Melrose Avenue on the night of August 31 in Los Angeles, California.

The video shows a car approaching the front of the Coolkicks shoe store, running over a street sign, and crashing through the front windows. The car then backs up and drives away as the front end of the vehicle scrapes the road.

Local news outlets reported the vehicle had been stolen on Sunday in the Venice area. The vehicle was later found abandoned.

The crash had no direct link to the unrest in the area following the shooting death of a black man by Los Angeles police earlier that day, reports said. Credit: @lonerlifestyle via Storyful
