Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kuzmin has shared his own announcement after being confirmed for the 2024 series lineup.

The dancer, who was runner-up on last year's series of the show alongside celebrity partner Layton Williams, was among the names announced for the professional lineup this week.

Nikita shared a series of pictures with previous partners Layton, Ellie Simmonds and Tilly Ramsay on Instagram, while also teasing "new and exciting things" on the horizon.

"ANNOUNCEMENT," he wrote. "I am thrilled to announce that I will be joining Strictly again for my 4th season!! Can’t wait for all the new and exciting things coming upppp."

As well as Nikita, the 2024 series will feature Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Gorka Márquez, Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystał, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola.

Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke will also be back, as will presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

Amy, who missed last year's series due to a breast cancer diagnosis, recently broke her silence on coming back, saying she is "so happy and grateful" to be returning.

Notably missing from the Strictly lineup is Giovanni Pernice, which comes after reports that the dancer was facing an internal BBC inquiry after complaints about his behaviour in show training.

Pernice previously denied "any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour", adding in an Instagram post: "No one is more ambitious for my dance partners than me. I have always striven to help them be the very best dancers they can be.

"This has always come from a place of love and wanting to win – for me and my dance partners."

The BBC said in May that complaints are taken seriously and that they are taking "any necessary steps to establish the facts, whether there is a case to answer, and, if appropriate, what action should be taken".

Strictly Come Dancing will return later this year on BBC One, while spinoff Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
