Ride-hailing app TADA increases platform fees from 17 August

SINGAPORE – Local ride-hailing app TADA will increase its platform fees from 17 August.

Users will be charged 55 cents (before GST) for fares below S$18 and 75 cents (before GST) for fares above S$18, up from the current 30 cents and 50 cents respectively.

In a news release on Wednesday (10 August), TADA said this change is to better support its growing platform.

TADA said that "to ease riders into the platform fee revision", it will be offering S$1 ride vouchers to passengers with the code "LETSTADA", valid from 17 August to 11 September 2022.

The company added that "for transparency, the platform fee will be listed distinctly as a separate line item on the rider's receipt upon completion of their booking".

Riders can also "look forward to more safety features and updates such as location sharing and higher accuracy in pick up point selection", TADA added.

Shorter cash-out time for drivers

For drivers, TADA said it will waive the platform fee from drivers for fares S$7 and below, but the new fees will apply to drivers for fares above S$7.

Drivers will also be able to cash out their earnings faster. The waiting time to cash out their earnings will decrease from 24 to 12 hours, TADA said.

Eligible drivers will also receive insurance protection covering basic healthcare as well as sick leave compensation, among other initiatives to be launched this week, the company added.

Earlier in July, three ride-hailing firms in Singapore — Grab, Gojek and Tada — had announced extensions of their temporary driver fee to end-2022 in part due to rising fuel costs.
