Taylor Swift to make long-awaited return to Singapore for 3 nights next March
Singapore is the only Southeast Asian stop for superstar's 'The Eras Tour'; presale tickets to start at noon on 5 July
SINGAPORE — Taylor Swift's "Love Story" with Singapore fans is set to resume in March 2024, but there could be "Bad Blood" among the fans as they prepare for a mad rush for her concert tickets.
Live music company AEG Presents Asia announced on Wednesday midnight (21 June) that the pop superstar will perform for three nights at Singapore's National Stadium from 2 to 4 March next year, as part of her "The Eras" international tour.
The 33-year-old Swift will return to the city-state to perform for the first time since 2015, with the National Stadium being the only Southeast Asian stop of her latest global concert tour, which began in the United States in March and has only Singapore and Tokyo as its Asian stops.
Mad dash for tickets expected
The announcement came just a day after fans of English rock band Coldplay endured long physical and virtual queues as they sought to purchase tickets for their six-night concert stand at the same venue in Singapore, scheduled for next January.
They will likely have to go through another mad dash for tickets, when presale tickets for Swift's Singapore dates go on sale for UOB card members from noon on 5 July to 9am on 7 July.
Fans can register their interest for general on-sales from noon on Friday (23 June) through noon on Wednesday (28 June). Through a lottery system, selected registered fans will receive an email on 5 July with information on how to access the general on-sales tickets, including a unique access code that will only allow a purchase of up to a maximum of four tickets.
Receiving of confirmed registration and/or the access code does not guarantee tickets.
Highest-earning female musician of past decade
Swift is one of the world's most popular music stars, selling over 200 million records and accumulating more than 36 billion combined streams of her music as of last year.
The American is the highest-earning female musician of the past decade, and is best known for hits such as 'Blank Space', 'Shake It Off' and 'Anti-Hero'.
The singer-songwriter will be supported by singer-actress Sabrina Carpenter on her international dates for The Eras Tour.
The tour saw 3.5 million people register to Ticketmaster's pre-sale program for the American leg of the concert tour, of which the platform's website crashed immediately after commencement of pre-sales. Over 2.4 million tickets were sold on the first day of pre-sales.
