"Terminator" releasing early in Singapore
8 May – The anticipated science fiction action film, "Terminator Genisys" will see an early release in Singapore this 25 June 2015, ahead of its planned U.S. release on 1 July and its Malaysia release on 2 July 2015.
Among the other movies also releasing on the same date as "Terminator Genisys" in Singapore; "American Heist" starring Hayden Christensen and Jordana Brewster, the Korean drama "Twenty" and the Thai horror "Black Death".
The fifth instalment of the franchise, which stars Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith, Lee Byung-hun and J.K. Simmons will also see the return of its original star, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The movie follows an adult John Connor who sends his most trusted lieutenant back in time to protect his mother and to ensure his existence against the machines that want to wipe out mankind.
In Singapore, the movie will be available in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D versions.
Despite "Terminator Genisys" being yet to be released, there are already two sequels confirmed and set for May 2017 and June 2018.
