Thai police charge suspect with murder after Briton dies

Police in Thailand have charged a 22-year-old man with the murder of a man from Britain.

The Thai man is suspected of attacking two British men with a rice sickle, leaving one of them dead and the other, hospitalised with injuries.

The deceased, a 49-year-old British man, was found at his home in Western Thailand with knife wounds, according to police on Sunday.

An initial investigation found that the suspect had attacked the two men for drinking and playing music loudly.

One of them, a 55-year-old, tried to stop the suspect but was injured in the process according to a local TV station.

He's now being treated at a hospital in Kanchanaburi province.

Media reports also suggested that the suspect had a history of mental health issues.

However, police said his mental history is still under investigation.
