Thailand’s Full Sense have secured themselves a spot in the VALORANT Champions 2021 after they beating Japanese team Northeption 3-2 in a nail-biting and lengthy finals at the Asia Pacific (APAC) Last Chance Qualifiers.

They will be joining two other Southeast Asia teams at VALORANT Champions 2021, X10 Esports and Team Secret (the Team Secret formerly known as Bren).

Full Sense had their work cut out for them as they lost the first map, Ascent, against Northeption 9-13, only to bounce back with a close 13-11 win in the second match on Icebox.

That was then followed up with a heartbreaking loss in Bind, losing in a drawn-out overtime with an 18-16 score.

Full Sense then finally appeared to be in absolute control in the next two maps, beating Northeption with a convincing 13-7 on Split and 13-8 on Haven to win the APAC Last Chance Qualifiers and book their place in Berlin.

Full Sense’s winning streak in this tournament series was initially marred by Northeption in the Upper Bracket finals, with them losing 1-2 to be sent to the Lower Bracket finals.

The Thai team then defeated Korean team DWG KIA (DAMWON Gaming) in the Lower Bracket finals to claw their way back into the Grand Finals, getting some sweet revenge for their loss in the Upper Bracket finals to qualify.

"We are so proud of our performance in the APAC LCQ. In previous competition in the SEA region, we have never been this good. But now that we can do it, we have come a long way," the Full Sense team told Yahoo Esports SEA later in an email interview.

The team said they felt their qualification was "a good opportunity for the Thai esports industry to grow", but admitted that they'd "have to wait and see where Thailand will be" in future competition.

As for what they were doing ahead of the tournament, Full Sense said they were practising as usual and would "absolutely" try their best, telling other aspiring esports players in SEA, "Never give up! Someday, it will be your day for sure!"

The VALORANT Champions 2021 will be held from 1-12 December 2021 in Berlin.

It will feature 16 teams across the globe, including Valorant Masters Stage 3 winners, Gambit Esports, and top VALORANT teams like North America’s Sentinels.

There are still a 3 more spots remaining for VALORANT Champions, reserved for the winners of the Last Chance Qualifiers from North America, South America and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) respectively.
