This Morning stars 'praying' missing co-star Michael Mosley is found

The TV doctor who has often appeared on This Morning has gone missing on the Greek island of Symi.

This Morning's stars have said they are "praying" Dr Michael Mosley will be found soon as they shared an update on the search for the missing TV doctor.

Mosley went missing on Wednesday lunchtime on the Greek island of Symi where he was on holiday with his wife and friends, and has not been seen since going for a walk along a coastal path.

He has often appeared as a guest on This Morning and the show's stars described him as "the embodiment of vitality", sharing some hope about a new development in the search.

Mosley's disappearance on the Greek island of Symi has shocked many of his fans and colleagues, including the stars of ITV's This Morning where he has often stopped in as a guest.

Hosting Friday's show, Alison Hammond said: "This is so upsetting," as Vanessa Feltz agreed: "This is so upsetting. We've all interviewed him so many times, met him so many times and I would say he is the embodiment of vitality.

"He is a man of irrepressible energy, enthusiasm, and his enthusiasm is for everybody else to feel the same. To be your absolute healthiest, fittest, enjoy life to the fullest, live your best life."

She added: "He's the most wonderful, wonderful person. He walked into the studio, the whole place lit up every single time. I couldn't love the guy more or admire him more. Tremendous, tremendous energy so I'm just praying that somehow they find him and he's somehow ok."

Host Dermot O'Leary agreed: "We can only hope and pray and send our love to all his loved ones that he's found and things aren't too bad."

Joining the programme from his LBC studio was Nick Ferrari, who shared an update on the search that he had just heard on his radio show. "They're setting a lot of store on the fact that they are getting specially trained sniffer dogs over there before lunchtime," he said. "They're very confident.

"He's obviously such a huge favourite with all your viewers, I do think we need to get that point across, the Greeks are very encouraged by the fact they can get the dogs over there that quickly."

This is the third day of the search for Mosley. More men are joining the search on Friday morning, police said, as it was paused overnight. Police and firefighters are working together on the search of the island, including the use of drones and a helicopter deployed on Thursday at 7pm.

The Secrets Of Your Big Shop star set off to head home from St Nicholas Beach on Symi at 1.30pm on Wednesday but he failed to return.

Mayor of Symi Eleftherios Papakalodoukas revealed firefighters believe it is "impossible" he is still there. He told the BBC: "It is a very small, controlled area, full of people. So, if something happened to him there, we would have found him by now."

Concerns are growing, sparking an appeal on Facebook which includes a picture of him closing his rucksack while on holiday.

In the photograph shared on the local Facebook group, the TV medic was wearing a blue polo shirt matched with cut-off shorts and a baseball cap. He was seen shutting his rucksack while on the beach on the Greek island.

The UK Foreign Office have shared an update on the diet expert. It read: "We are supporting the family of a British man who is missing in Greece and are in contact with the local authorities."

Jeremy Vine, Martin Lewis and Alex Jones are among the stars who have expressed their concerns. MoneySavingExpert.com founder Lewis wrote on X: "Feeling disturbed about the news about Dr Michael Mosley. I hope he's ok."
