Three soldiers serving with international coalition forces in Afghanistan were killed in an attack in eastern Afghanistan on Monday, the military said. "Three International Security Assistance Force service members died following an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan today," NATO's ISAF said in a statement. ISAF did not release the location of the attack or the nationalities of the soldiers, in keeping with policy. According to a tally kept by icasualties.org, 145 foreign troops have been killed so far this year in Afghanistan, where some 130,000 US-led troops are fighting an insurgency by hardline Taliban militants.
