Three men arrested for discharging fireworks in Yishun

A trio of men in their 30s have been arrested on suspicion of discharging dangerous fireworks in Yishun last week.

Just after midnight on 18 October, police were alerted to loud sounds believed to have been caused by the discharge of fireworks from the top deck of the multi-storey carpark at Block 419A Yishun Avenue 11. Yahoo News Singapore understands that the men are Singaporeans and of Indian ethnicity.

Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and established the identities of three men involved in the incident. Two of them were arrested on Monday (23 October) while the third was arrested on Tuesday, said the Singapore Police Force in a news release.

Investigations into the matter ongoing. Anyone convicted for the Discharge of Dangerous Fireworks under Section 3(1)(b), Chapter 72, is liable to be fined up to $10,000, and/or to imprisonment for up to 2 years.
