Train delay hits North South Line on Tuesday morning: SMRT
Update 9.03 am: SMRT says the earlier train fault had been cleared, and services were progressively being restored. It added that the free regular bus services had also ceased.
Commuters were told to add 30 minutes of train travel time between Woodlands and Yew Tee stations in the direction of Jurong East on Tuesday morning (22 January) from about 8am.
The delay was due to a train fault, SMRT announced in a tweet.
Free bus services between Woodlands and Yew Tee were made available, SMRT added.
[NSL]: Due to a train fault at Marsiling, pls add 30mins train travel time from #Woodlands to #YewTee towards #JurongEast.

Commuters replied to SMRT’s tweet saying that “both sides” were affected by the delay, with crowds forming on train platforms waiting for trains towards Marina Bay as well.

Both sides are affected. Please update your tweet. I’m taking the train towards Marina Bay and your misrepresentation will cause my boss to question my story pic.twitter.com/ta2lYwYRr6
