MOHH doctor charged with filming males urinating at shopping mall toilets

SINGAPORE — A Ministry of Health Holdings (MOHH) doctor was charged with filming males urinating in toilets at Ngee Ann City and Bugis Junction earlier this year.

Dr Jerry Christian Nagaputa, who was under training at the Singapore General Hospital’s (SGH) Department of Anatomical Pathology, was charged on Tuesday (5 November) with 23 counts of making an obscene film, with one alleged incident occurring on 9 February and the other 22 incidents on 11 February.

The 30-year-old Indonesian national is said to have filmed a male person peeing at the urinal at amity 4.40pm at a male toilet in Ngee Ann City on 9 February.

He is also accused of filming males urinating in a Bugis Junction toilet on 22 occasions between 5.24pm and 8.31pm on 11 February.

Responding to a query by Yahoo News Singapore, Associate Professor Tan Hak Koon, SingHealth’s designated institutional official (Graduate Medical Education Office) said that Nagaputa was employed by the MOHH.

“He is no longer employed under MOHH, effective 25 October 2019,” Tan added.

Nagaputa’s case has been adjourned for an update on his Institute of Mental Health appointments and report. He will return to court on 3 December.
