Twitter crowdsourcing helped an NBA player find his lost puppy
Thanks to some help from fans on social media, worried pet owner and Sacramento Kings guard Ben McLemore was reunited with his lost puppy on Wednesday, offering a brief and warming reminder that, as chaotic and distasteful as it can often be, the Internet can sometimes be used for good.

The 23-year-old shooting guard, whom the Kings selected out of Kansas with the No. 7 pick in the 2013 NBA draft, took to Twitter on Monday in search of assistance in locating his 10-month-old French bulldog puppy Rolex, who had gone missing in the Fair Oaks section of Sacramento:
Twitter fam- MY PUPPY is LOST in FAIR OAKS. Rolex is a male blue Frenchie w a red collar. If you see him PLEASE tweet me. REWARD if found!!

Shortly thereafter, McLemore’s pleas were answered:
@BenMcLemore sorry wish I could help more, but it's your dog for sure red collar, young frenchie and not fixed.

… and, soon enough — so soon, it seems, that there was no time for a shirt — Ben and Rolex were reunited:
Sac fans I can't thank y'all enough for all the continued effort and support in looking for my pup. Happy to say I am reunited with Rolex!!

It’s like my grandfather always used to say: “There will be times in your life where you’ll be really thankful you’ve got more than 100,000 Twitter followers, some number of which would be willing to help out in a time of need.” We’re glad to hear McLemore and Rolex are back together, and to have one small example of how social media can be a positive and useful thing at least some of the time.
