Two Bangladeshi men arrested in connection with death of man at Geylang Lor 24A

Two Bangladeshi men, aged 30 and 34, have been arrested by the Singapore Police Force in connection with the death of a 42-year-old man at Geylang Lorong 24A on Sunday 9 July.

Media reports said the man was found motionless at Geylang Lorong 24A and had head and upper body injuries. He was pronounced dead at 8:05am.

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Police Intelligence Department (PID) and Bedok Police Division established the identity of the first suspect on 9 July 2017. The officers subsequently established the identity of a second suspect and arrested him in an operation on 10 July 2017, said the police in a statement on Monday night.

The first suspect, aged 34, will be charged in court on 11 July 2017 for the offence of Voluntarily Causing Grievous Hurt under Section 325 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he is liable for a jail term of up to 10 years, a fine, and/or caning.

Investigations against the other suspect are still ongoing.
