Tyla Makes a Street Party 'Jump' in New Hometown-Set Video with Gunna and Skillibeng — Watch!

The summer anthem is the latest from the Grammy winner’s self-titled debut album to get the music video treatment

Tyla continues her meteoric pop star rise with yet another infectious summer anthem.

The breakout “Water” sensation, 22, released her new music video for “Jump” on Monday, May 20, transporting fans to her hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa, for an epic street party. Collaborators Gunna and Skillibeng appear in the video as well, with the former chauffeuring Tyla around her old stomping grounds as she embraces her newfound global fame.

All eyes are on Tyla in the vibrant Nabil-directed visual while she flaunts her sexy dance moves and fly wardrobe in all the hot spots. Not even a window-crashing brawl can interrupt the party vibes as she still sings of making it “jump, jump, jump, jump, jump, jump, jump.”

The African pop singer and Gunna, 30, keep the lively energy flowing in the club as the latter raps on the track, “I'm back in Joburg, it can't feel no realer / A perfect picture like a Polaroid / She a trophy, no award / Baby sweet and tender like sirloin.”

While Tyla halts traffic to continue her jumping twerk fest, Skillibeng, 27, comes in with his verse, too, coolly rapping, “​​Original girl, you are no replica / Smooth, dean, no regular degular / Pretty for real and pretty pon my cellular / Mi know say ya hot.”

“Jump” is the latest song from Tyla’s self-titled debut album — which dropped on March 22 — to get the music video treatment. It arrives three months after the South African musician earned her first Grammy win for best African music performance, which made her the youngest-ever Grammy-winning African artist.

The “Truth or Dare” hitmaker spoke to PEOPLE afterward, calling the moment “surreal.”

“Hearing my name, being able to get on that stage and say a whole speech was crazy,” said Tyla, “especially considering my age and how early I am in my career. I didn't expect that honestly, but I'm just so grateful that it happened. It's history. It's such a big moment for home. I couldn’t be happier, really.”

She also talked about teaming up with Gunna for “Jump,” a “cool detour” track that was “kind of different” from what the amapiano artist is used to doing.

“I felt like it needed a rapper on it to really take it there,” she said of the collaboration. “I first thought of Gunna because, I mean, Gunna is talented, and he's also shown interest in African culture and the music, so it only made sense.”

Reflecting on her latest A-list collabs, which include Tems, Travis Scott, and Becky G, Tyla added, “It's crazy. It took a while for me to realize that these people know me, but I get reminded every time I tell my family because they literally look at me like, ‘You're literally joking, like, stop.’”

“When I see their reaction, I get reminded, like, ‘Yeah, this is actually happening,’” she continued. “It's a really good feeling.”

By this month, Tyla would’ve been wrapping up the final dates on her self-titled North American tour. However, a longstanding injury forced her to cancel the 24-date run entirely, with her U.K. and European dates being rescheduled for a later time.

“As much as this is something I would rather have dealt with privately, it’s important that I share what I have to share with you today,” the “No. 1” artist wrote in a March announcement on social media. “For the past year, I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened. I’ve seen doctors and specialists with high hopes but the pain has only become more agonizing as has the severity of the situation.”

“I am absolutely heartbroken to have to say this but as of right now I won’t be able to proceed with the tour,” she continued. “In consulting with medical professionals it’s become increasingly clear that continuing any festival or tour dates would jeopardize my long-term health and safety.”

The “Safer” performer also shared a sweet caption with fans, writing, “Y’all still gonna see me around Tygers so don’t worry too much… just know when I’m back to performing pain free, I’m gonna be even more of a problem 🐅🤍 It’s hard having to turn down opportunities you’ve been waiting your whole life for but God has his plan 🤍.”
