'Unreal' TV series renewed for Season 3

The show about the surreal world about reality TV "Unreal" has been renewed for a third season.

Cable network Lifetime made the announcement ahead of its Season 2 premiere June 6.

The series stars Shiri Appleby as the TV producer of a reality dating show "Everlasting" who is tasked with manipulating the contestants to create ratings-spiking drama on the set.

Since debuting last year, the show has earned a Peabody award. Its debut season also drew an average of 3.7 million views per episode across all platforms, reports Variety.

Season 3 will span 10 episodes and premiere in 2017.
