The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has released the first “white site” in Woodlands Regional Centre for sale on Tuesday (11 December), under the Reserve List of the second-half 2018 Government Land Sales (GLS) Programme.

A white site is a plot of land where a range of uses is allowed, although the government will often stipulate a minimum component for a specific use or specific uses to meet planning intentions.

The 2.75ha mixed-use site can potentially generate some 115,747 sq m of gross floor area (GFA), with at least 45,000 sq m set aside for office use, URA said in a statement on Tuesday. The remaining GFA can be for additional office, retail, entertainment and residential uses.

The 99-year leasehold land site is connected to the Woodlands MRT station, where commuters can access both the Thomson-East Coast and North-South MRT Lines.

The land parcel is within the 100-hectare Woodlands Regional Centre, an area which will be developed into a commercial hub over the next 15 years. The Woodlands Regional Centre comprises two precincts – Woodlands Central and Woodlands North Coast.

When fully developed, Woodlands Regional Centre will have about 700,000 sq m of commercial space and offer approximately 100,000 new jobs.
