VALORANT: Singapore’s Bleed Esports sweep SCARZ 3-0 to win VCT Ascension Pacific

They also earn a two-year spot at the VCT Pacific League.

Singapore’s Bleed Esports have been crowned as champions of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Ascension Pacific after sweeping Japanese team SCARZ, 3-0, in the grand finals on Sunday (9 July).

Bleed has been one of the strongest teams in the entire competition, dominating Group Alpha in the Group Stage with a 3-1 record.

Bleed went nearly undefeated in the Group Stage, beating South Asian team Orangutan, 2-1, on day 2 before overcoming SCARZ, 2-1, in their first meeting on day 4 of the Group Stage.

The Singapore team were, however, beaten by South Korean team Dplus, 0-2, on day 5 but bounced back and kept their lead after a sweeping Australian team Bonkers, 2-0, allowing them to take first seed in Group Omega.

Bleed then outplayed Indonesian team BOOM Esports in a neck-and-neck match that ended with a 2-1 score in favour of Bleed.

SCARZ also had a nearly similar run in the VCT Ascension, belonging to the same group as Bleed with a 3-1 record but with a lower overall score than Bleed Esports in Group Omega, which relegated them to second seed.

SCARZ established dominance early, scoring 2-0 sweeps over Team Bonkers in day 1 and then Team Orangutan on day 3 .

After their loss to Bleed, the Japanese squad cemented their spot in the Playoffs after another 2-0 sweep against DK Plus.

In the Playoffs, SCARZ swept their Vietnamese opponents, Fancy, 2-0, in the quarterfinals and then eliminated Filipino team NAOS Esports in an intense match that ultimately ended with the Japanese team winning 2-1.

Bleed dominate SCARZ in VCT Ascencion Pacific finals

The first match of Bleed and SCARZ's grand finals showdown on Haven was an intense affair between both teams, with Bleed taking the first half 13-9. However, SCARZ caught up in the second half.

But it was hometown hero Nutchaphon "sScary" Matarat's 1v4 clutch play that sealed the first game with an ace, allowing Bleed to take the first map 13-9.

Bleed then further unleashed their prowess in the second game on Bind, where they overpowered SCARZ and swiftly took the second win 13-2.

Bleed smelled blood in the water in game three on Fracture, where they demolished SCARZ in the first half 8-4. But the Japanese team was not done yet, quickly catching up to Bleed and scoring eight rounds.

However Bleed could not be denied and completed the 3-0 sweep with a 13-8 rout in game three to claim the VCT Ascension Pacific title.

With their win, Bleed have secured a two-year slot at the VCT Pacific League and a US$20,000 cash prize.

Meanwhile, SCARZ bow out of the competition in second place, taking home US$15,000 in consolation.
