Aceh Earthquake Leaves Buildings in Rubble

At least 18 people were killed when a 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia’s Aceh province early on Wednesday.

Indonesia’s Kompas TV reported that buildings in the Pidie Jaya Regency collapsed during the tremor. The earthquake struck around 12 miles southeast of Sigli, according to the USGS.

This video shows the damage to the Mudi Mesra mosque in the Aceh city of Samalanga, which is located around 30 miles from the earthquake epicenter.
