Duterte Wants Foreign Troops Out of the Philippines Within 'Two Years'

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said he wanted United States troops to leave his country within the next two years in a speech in Tokyo, on Wednesday, October 26.

Addressing Japanese and Filipino business executives at a forum in Tokyo, Duterte said “I want, maybe in the next two years, my country free of the presence of foreign military troops.” Duterte added that this year’s U.S. and Philippine military war games would be the last.
