Infrared Camera Captures Spectacular Turrialba Volcano Eruption

Turrialba Volcano, located around 70 km (43 miles) outside Costa Rica’s Capital of San Jose, erupted on Monday, September 19, sending huge plumes of ash into the air.

The first eruption took place at 2:53 AM on September 19. According to the Red Sismológica Nacional (RSN) of Costa Rica, the volcano erupted four more times throughout the day.
