World's Oldest Known Seabird Expecting Another Chick at Age 66

The world’s oldest known seabird is expecting another chick. A Laysan albatross named Wisdom, believed to be 66 years old, was spotted incubating an egg by biologists at the Midway Atoll national wildlife refuge in the Pacific ocean recently.

Wisdom returns to the island each year to use the same nest with her mate, and she was first tagged by biologist Chandler Robbins in 1956. US Fish and Wildlife Service’s Pacific Region shared this video of Wisdom on their Facebook page, and also posted a number of photos of the seabird on their Tumblr page also.
