Vidya Balan admitted to hospital due to exhaustion
12 Oct – Bollywood actress Vidya Balan ("Thank You") has created a lot of buzz with her sexual portrayal in the promo of "The Dirty Picture", and apparently the role has taken a toll on her health too, according to a report on Hindustan Times' website.
The actress is said to be hospitalised for a few days around the Dussehra area at Lilavati Hospital, Bandra, due to exhaustion.
Vidya plays the lead role in the biopic on the life of southern siren Silk Smitha.
"Vidya worked very hard for her part, and ended up exerting herself. As a result, she lost her appetite. Her haemoglobin levels too dropped considerably. That's why her parents decided to get her admitted at Lilavati because she doesn't rest at home," an unnamed source was quoted as saying.
A representative of Lilavati Hospital also responded on the matter saying, "Yes, Vidya was admitted for a couple of days, but it wasn't very serious. We discharged her after making sure she was fine." Now, Vidya's parents are making sure that she takes enough rest and spends time with her niece and nephew."
Produced by Ekta Kapoor, "The Dirty Picture" also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi. The film is expected for a 2 December 2011, to coincide with Silk Smitha's birthday.
